Laura and David S. in Shelby township came to us with his gorgeous home that needed mold and mildew removal along with rotting wood needing repair with a fresh coat of permanent Rhino Shield paint on the trim, siding and decks.
We began with power washing the siding, soffit, fascia, and deck. We then began to replace the areas of the home that were rotting with brand new wood, this was primarily on their deck and trim. This rotting happened from the lack of sun that was present in those areas of the home. Mold, mildew, and rotting often happen from being in dark, damp, and colder areas of a home with low air circulation and evaporation. Jim and his installation team were able to repair all of these rotting areas and successfully remove all of the mold and mildew. By doing this we are able to further protect the home from future growth of mold and mildew.
After all of the areas were taped off and clean we applied our APS (Adhesive Primer Sealer), this sticky primer penetrates any leftover paint and sticks directly to the surface serving as an adhering agent to stick our paint. This is different than traditional paint primers, other paint primers only serve for paint coverage comparative to APS where out primer is also a sealant and an adhesive.
Next, we applied 3 coats of our Elastomeric-Ceramic top coat. The ceramic is used to cut down the time of wear on the paint, the elastic makes the ceramic not crack or become brittle. Our Elastomeric-Ceramic top coat not only allows the house to breathe and adjust in any weather conditions without cracking, peeling, or bubbling but also gives it the durability of ceramic. Another great feature that will help this home is the breathability of our product, while water vapors will be able to get out of the home water from outside will not be able to get inside.
