Jim S. came to us with their beautiful home. It had rotting T1-11 and Trim as well as faded brick, this home was in need of some heavy power washing and a fresh coat of Rhino Shield.
The first step for this home was to power wash the brick, siding and trim. There was mold and mildew on the trim and siding, as well as dirt in the brick. This came from the mold and mildew growing on parts of the home that are cold and shaded, the dirt came from the age of the home sometimes it just cant be stopped. Next, we began to scrape off all the leftover paint, there was a lot of T1-11 and trim to scrape so we took our time and made sure to get every inch off. After that we replaced all of the rotting wood and T1-11, this happened because moisture gets stuck in the wood from the paint chipping. Regular paints are made up of minerals, water, resins, pigments and filler often cracking and peeling allowing water to get into the wood yet not escape out of it causing rotting.
After we tapped off the windows areas the family didn't want to get the coating on, we began to applied our APS (Adhesive Primer Sealant). The APS is used to not only as a primer but as a way to seal the home making sure that no water can get into the home, it is also used as a sticky adhesive to further make our Elastomeric-Ceramic top coat stick even better to the home.
The Elastomeric-Ceramic top coat is a flexy ceramic paint that allows water vapors out of your home but keeping water from outside of your home out. This feature helps prevent mildew and mold from growing not only on the outside of your home but on the inside as well. Our top coat allows serves as an insulator as well that boosts the energy efficiency of your home. Why this is important is because it helps your save money when you have your heat or AC on. The family chose the same color of Rhino Shield paint as their previous paint sticking to their previous clean and gorgeous all white home.
