Rhino Shield of Michigan Case Studies: Case Studies: Rhino Shield Applied on Wood Siding and Trim in New Buffalo, MI

This family in New Buffalo had us come out to their beautiful house near lake Michigan. This little lake home was in desperate need of a power wash, good scraping, and a fresh coat of Rhino Shield. 

The installation team started out by giving this home a heavy power wash, it is not surprising that this home had mold and mildew due to the harsh lake effect weather that effects this home and others like it in the area. The lake effect from Lake Michigan brings in heavy snow, down pouring rain, and strong winds that can torture a home. After power washing the home, we began to scrape off all of the leftover peeled paint and stains left from the mold and mildew. Soot, mold, and mildew can often leave stains on the paint of your home making it have a black or green discoloration. After scraping off all of the leftover paint and discolorations and making replacements on rotted wood we began our painting process. 

We always start out with our APS as our first coat, this Adhesive Primer Sealer has 3 main uses. Adhering to the home to further help the topcoat, a primer for our Elastomeric-Ceramic topcoat, and lastly as a sealer for your home. This step is extremely important because it is the base layer for your home and is the starting layer of sealant for your home. Next, we put on our Elasticomeric-Ceramic topcoat, this flexible yet durable coating is the perfect thing to help protect this home that is hit with hot temperature, strong winds, and heavy snow and rain. Our topcoat is a great way to defend your home against rain and snow, Rhino Shield is specified at TT-C-555B this means it can protect your home from winds with rain at up to 98 miles per hour and also has a 3 part to help prevent mold, mildew, and algae additive
