Our trained installers use the durable ceramic coating solution Rhino Shield for our exterior coatings jobs. These paints are designed to last far longer than traditional paints thanks to ceramic microspheres as the paint's solid component. This, along with our paint's higher solid-component ratio, is what makes our products so incredibly durable and long-lasting.
We paint all these surfaces and more. Just schedule a free consultation and we’ll discuss how we can enhance specific aspects of your building’s exterior with Rhino Shield. Browse our before and after images of previous jobs to see the transformative process for yourself.
At Rhino Shield of Michigan we understand that customization is one of the most important aspects of a home improvement job, or any commercial exterior painting job for that matter. That’s why we offer Rhino Shield in over 1,500 colors so you don’t feel limited by generic choices. Our paint experts can even color-match our product to your home or business for a truly seamless upgrade and finish.
Rhino Shield is over 6 times thicker than regular latex paint. Plus, it lasts 4-5 times longer than regular exterior paint. This added protection to your home or business’s exterior will pay for itself over time through saved energy costs and in avoiding costly paint jobs every couple of years.
Michigan is known to have a particularly harsh climate that is not kind to building exteriors. The rapid temperature changes, moisture in the air, and freezing weather can damage and warp the outside of your home or business. As a result, the exterior paint can peel, flake, chip off, and become discolored after just one harsh season.
Mold, mildew, and algae thrive in consistently humid climates such as Michigan. This is especially problematic around the Great Lakes which act as natural humidifiers for much of the state. Once humidity levels reach or exceed 60%, mold, mildew, and algae are very likely to grow. Many towns and cities in Michigan maintain humidity levels far above that throughout the year. In Ann Arbor, for example, monthly humidity averages topped out at 85%, and never fell below 75% in any single month. Even in Lansing, a much more inland city than Ann Arbor, the lowest monthly humidity average was 67%.
On the other end of the weather spectrum, Michigan experiences significant summer heat for a couple of months a year, especially in July. If your home is painted a dark color, it can absorb heat and warm the walls of your home or business, rendering your A/C less efficient. Rhino Shield ceramic coatings reflect radiant heat from the sun and stop it from heating the inside of the building.
