How to chose your homes color to boost curb appeal.

The paint color of your home can make or break the curb appeal of your home, without a proper color to match or coexist in your neighborhood or community can affect your home's resale price. When looking at what color you want your home to be you should look around at not only your neighbor's home colors but also the environment and plants around your home.

We will be going over different Michigan ecosystems and the colors you should paint your exterior based on those environments.

Swamp/Forest: These ecosystems are super common in Michigan and these colors will make your home pop while still making your home look sleek. We recommend earthy colors to contrast the lush green environment.

Colors include but not limited to:

  • Charcoal
  • Cream
  • White
  • Dark Green (Trim)
  • Tan
  • Steel
  • Iron

Lake House: We are surrounded by the great lakes and work on tons of homes on lakes. Lake houses are extremely versatile while exterior paints, depending on the style of the home you could have a large variety of options of colors. These homes no matter the style are often bright colors that pull attention.

Colors include but not limited to:

  • Light Blue
  • Burgandy
  • White
  • Cream
  • Tan
  • Yellow

Neighborhood: In a Neighborhood, there is usually a color theme that everyone follows even though the layout and build of their homes are different. You should take this into consideration before choosing that bright blue color you have been looking at. If you do decide to follow the theme of the neighborhood but still want to stand out we recommend different shades of the popular paints.

Colors include but not limited to:

  • Khaki
  • Dark Blue
  • Cream
  • Steel
  • Black
  • White
  • Dark Red
  • Green

Side Street Homes: These homes typically have the most flexibility due to not having any restrictions set by a homeowners association. When living on a side street or off a dirt road you have tons of flexibility with colors and design. Living off of a street can have lots of different environments including industrial, forest, swamp, downtown, park and so much more. With this in mind choose one of our favorite colors that matches the style and location of your home.

Colors include but not limited to:

  • Iron
  • Yellow
  • White
  • Red
  • Blue
  • Tan
  • Green
  • All of these colors can be used in different shades
